Grinding
All raw tobacco provenances are ground separately and conveyed to large silos. The product is removed via an electronic balance.
Manufacture of semi-finished products
Different flour blends in terms of smell and colour from various tobacco flours are put together, mixed, wetted and then sieved according to precisely defined recipes. The moisture check is carried out on each mixture according to the product specification.
Cold fermenting
The plastic boxes are placed in a large dark storage room at a consistent temperature for ripening over a prolonged period.
Final mix
The flour blends are put together from the various semi-finished products for the individual types according to prescribed recipes. Smell and colour differences are of course considered. If necessary, the blends are mixed, sieved and filled into smaller boxes on the large or small mixing plant with the flavour components which are also specified in the recipe, such as menthol, fruit flavours, essential oils, white oil (paraffin) and salt solutions. Each mixture undergoes a final inspection – release is issued according to the product specification after determination of the moisture content and inspection by the electronic nose in the laboratory.
Stand-by area
In this area, the finished mixtures are put into intermediate storage. They are subsequently filled quickly into their containers.
Packing
The filling plants are situated exactly under the stand-by area in a large hall. Menthol Snuff is filled into eight packing lines with two almost fully automatic packaging machines each. All filling plants are supplied with material though special transport systems from the stand-by area. After packaging in retail cartons, the products are taken to the finished goods warehouse of the shipping packing office.
